Neurotoxin Injections (Botox^TM, Dysport^TM)

This treatment utilizes a neurotoxin which is derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Neurotoxin Injection is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscle. Precise injections in the affected areas block certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that underlie and cause wrinkles, such as:
